We discovered a new hotel this time round, Novotel at The Platinum Mall. It is totally the dream hotel! It was situated just above my favourite mall (wholesale fashion), and it was new and clean! The room wasn't very big, but it doesn't matter since we weren't gonna spend all our time hiding in the room.

Our first lunch at bangkok. Phad thai! I'm usually someone who can take spice pretty well, but somehow the chilli flakes were so lethal they left my throat and tummy burning for quite some time :(
We spent the first day walking around platinumum a little (i didn't buy much 'cause i was still warming up), then went over the central world which was within walking distance to have dinner!


Wanted to have Fuji for dinner, but made do with Yayoi instead. Yay to cheap japanese food!Back at the hotel, I got cheated by the m&ms charity machine. Only 10 m&ms were dispensed! :(( Breakfast next morning! Wouldn't say it was amazing, but good enough.

My plan before going bangkok was to swim everyday to keep fit for the competition, but in the end all I did was dip in the pool one morning!

There was a fake infinity pool haha. Would be nicer if it was higher up! I think the pool was only at the 6th or 9th storey.

Just chilling. Totally not exercising.

That morning KC's friends arrived! There was supposed to be another couple coming, but they couldn't in the end, and we moved to their room instead! They got a free upgrade and the room was at the 24th storey! Better view and slightly better room!


Day 2 was spent shopping with kc's friends! They turned out to be really nice and friendly so it wasn't awkward at all as i previously feared!

At night we met another two of their friends for dinner! We had dinner at this shabu shabu restaurant. It was my first time having shabu shabu! Thought I wouldn't have much to eat, but they had seafood too! And the nicest, most thinly sliced sotong I've ever eaten. Nice! If i'm not wrong the restaurant's called Nobu Shabu.

Next day was fishing day! We woke up bright and early! The fishing pond was around 45mins-1 hours drive away, called Bangsawan or something like that.

I wasn't very sure what to expect 'cause kc and his friends made it sound quite scary. So basically there was a huge huge pond, and huts around the pond where people could rent to hangout and fish.



This pretty thing is the set up of the hook! Complete with beads, a float, cage and hook.
And soon it was my turn to try! It's a different type of fishing that I've previously tried at the kelong, this was much more exciting! You had to literally fight with the fish while reeling them in, and the fish are very very strong I could get dragged forward by them.



This is the first fish that i 'fought'! So big huh. Sorry fish for fishing you :/ The fish are all returned to the pond though. Poor fishes huh.

I bought the most on the last day! Knowing that I was short of time, huiling and i rushed like mad through pratunam and platinum as well as the new mall shibuya! Bought quite a lot :D No pictures 'cause we were too busy shopping!
