ASD

Attended a workshop on the fundamentals of autism yesterday. Only after I started working at bazgym was I aware that there're so many children with ASD or ADHD in Singapore. A pretty shocking and sad realization. The workshop gave me a deeper understanding of autistic children; but i think the understanding only made me sadder :( The three main impairments autistic kids suffer from are social interaction, language & communication and flexible thoughts and behaviours. And that's why they usually have trouble fitting in with most of us. It's not that they don't want to, but they don't know how to. The speaker gave examples of autistic children who couldn't really talk, but through writing and typing, they managed to convey what they really feel and even explain why they behave in certain odd ways. Can you imagine not being to express your thoughts and feelings to everyone around you? Sighs. Anyway here's a really cool video of this amazing autistic guy with a very very special talent

KR Hall Production!

Didn't expect myself to still watch hall prod this year! But the posters looked good, people recommended and jio-ed, so I did. I pretty much enjoyed the show, at least i understood what it was about. Very impressed by the talented actresses too; who can dance, act and sing so well.

The show was good, and the company was even better! Really happy to meet up with the c blockers. My retarded working hours have more or less cut me off from everyone. I've missed out on so many gatherings, it's pretty sad. But I really need lotsa energy for two consecutive days of coaching from 10-5 :( Sigh.
