Evaluation of 2011's new year resolutions

Work:

To discuss with my boss about my expectations regarding my current job. If there're no significant changes and the job still doesn't meet my expectations, quit and find another job. With a decent pay, reasonable working hours, good prospects and hopefully, something i'm interested in. No idea what that is yet :(
Pretty significant changes were made at the beginning, more reasonable pay, slight better working hours and wider jobscope. But towards the end of the year, I have new and higher expectations.







As long as i'm still working at the gym - To have more patience for all my students. I think i tried!
To start some sort of cheerleading program at the gym. Didn't try at all :X
To learn more from chulaoshi, longwei, deqiang and mrsng wrt competitive coaching. I have girls doing higher levels this year, so i think i did learn more! To learn more about business management. A bit more, not enough.






Health:



To sleep earlier and wake up earlier everyday. 8 hours everyday if possible, not too much longer or shorter. I sleep almost 8 hours everyday, but totally didn't succeed in sleeping earlier and waking up later. Still slept at crazy timings like 4+ 5+am quite often :(
To drink more water and less soft drinks. Hopefully get into the habit of bringing a water bottle around. Think i've been drinking more soft drinks. Oh no. :( Haven't beem bringing a bottle around either.
To extract my wisdom tooth and take better care of my teeth. Extracted my wisdom tooth. Better care of my teeth.. uhh...
To run, swim and perhaps play tennis more often. I didn't run for the whole year til today. I swam maybe.. once, played in the pool once, and chilled on the floating chair once. Not much tennis as well. Major fail.





Beauty:



To be more diligent in terms of skincare and haircare. Slightly?
To own more beautiful clothes HAHAHA. Without over spending. Not enough :(
To get skinnier legs. (This is more like a wish) No comments.





Others:


To better utilize my free time. Think I still did a pretty bad job..

To spend more time with friends, meet up with those whom i haven't met in a long while. This I think I did. More meet ups with the c block girls at least! :)
To achieve new b tosses, stunts and pyramids in cheerleading. Only improvements were more consistent rewinds, slightly more confidence in b tosses, attempted layout twist but haven't mastered it. Totally unsatisfactory.. but the way we train.. sigh.
To not let papa and mama worry about me, hence
To be safe and stay injury free as much as possible during cheer. With the taiwanese cheerleader incident and my almost-last-minute-subbing at cwc, i think they were probably more worried than ever :S
To achieve some sort of self improvement in terms of knowledge, skills and character. . Negligible

All in all, I think I did a pretty bad job in keeping up with the resolutions. 2012 resolutions next!

Halloween 2011+ Gardens by the Bay




This year I thought I shouldn't be so boring so I decided to at least go somewhere to experience a little bit of halloween atmosphere! The night started off with dinner at Relish with ming and kc.





We even prepared costumes for the night! Okay not exactly costumes, more like a couple of props from daiso :P







2nd stop of the night was Ben and Jerry's at Dempsey to visit xiaoxinyi the geisha! After spending some efforts to convince zikai - both xinyi and i(i resorted to telling him i missed him), they decided to join us! :D And we bumped into Ruth there :)











Pretty girl xinyi! I got a shock when I first saw her 'cause I thought we were wearing the same dress! Turned out that our dresses were really similar, but not the same. Phew.


3rd stop was clark quay! We decided to just walk around clark quay to people watch! And look who we spotted, a little girl in the same 'costume' as kaycee :P





She's so much cuter of course.

Bumped into kaibin and his hot gf who were dressed up as Han Solo and Princess Leia from Star Wars. I had no idea who these characters were before this halloween 'cause I've never watched star wars!


Clark quay was super crowded that night, seemed like half of Singapore was there! It was a good experience, we saw many interesting/cute/sleazy costumes! It was too dark though and I didn't approach anyone for photos so I didn't manage to get any nice pictures. But I thought these ghosts were cute!




At the end of the night, Xinyi and I decided that we shall really dress up next halloween! With a challenge - The first person who gets three strangers approaching her to take photos! I have no idea what to dress up as yet, haha.

Gardens by the bay!





We were kind of cheated to visit Gardens by the Bay, 'cause I read on the news that there was free admission, but in actually fact we had to purchase tickets to enter the flower dome! And the flower dome contained all that was worth looking at so it'd be rather silly not to enter after going all the way there.




And so we bought tickets! I bought the student priced, concession ticket 'cause I was pissed that we got cheated. But actually, no. Haha even if I were not pissed I think I would get the conccession ticket. Hope I won't get arrested for writing this on my blog! =X



The first view we got after we entered the flower dome was this:




So unappealing please! I felt cheated, again.

And this is the ugliest plant I have ever seen:






Found a boabab tree which looks EXACTLY like kaycee.


Turns out that there were different sections in the flower dome, of plants from different places. So I finally found the pretty flowers which are the reason why I would want to visit Gardens by the Bay.

 I thought this orchid had a pretty similar name to mine.



 Other than the flower dome, we also got to visit the world orchid conference that was ongoing at the same time.




 The exhibition was all the way at MBS, which looked very near, but took us AGES to walk there.




There were millions of orchids there.




And there were plenty of different arrangements and landscaping using orchids.
Look, there's a breed of orchid named after nanyang primary school!

 They sold orchids there too, and I took a long time choosing my favourite pot of orchird!
 It's now sitting happily in my room, and new flowers have been blooming! :D (But I accidentally dropped it just now broke a few petals of one of the flowers whoops)
