Christmas decor at the world trade centre near causeway bay.
Competition day! Some of the mummies did really elaborate hair and make up for the girls!
Prize giving in the afternoon that took 3 hours and was killing everybody. Lots of drama and problems came up during the prize giving, the most stressful time of the whole trip. Glad it was more or less settled though. All my students won something, I was very happy :D:D
Two other darlings Gabby and Raeanne! Gabby got the most prizes from this competition and i was very proud of her too 'cause she came for extra trainings without complaining and trained hard!
We arrived 1.5 days before the competition, and i spent most of the shopping with youzi! Glad I had her for the first few days!
Only during this trip did i realise Hong Kong's really great for shopping! Favourite places were the malls at Argyle street and Kwai Chung Plaza at Kwai Fong(Xian's recommendation, thanks!!). Most of the shops sold winter clothing though, I think the shopping would be doubly good during summer!
After youzi came back to Singapore early, and Chu lao shi ditched me to visit her friends and shenzhen, I was left with two male colleagues! :/ One was kinda lazy and preferred to stay back in the hotel room, but the other was slightly more adventurous! Lucky I had him to eat dimsum breakfast with!
On one of the days we decided to visit Stanley! We decided to go there 'cause the Stanley market was supposedly famous. The journey there turned out to be too long to be worth it! We had to take train, then a 45 minute bus ride!
Apparently Stanley is a very expensive residential area by the sea! All the people staying there are very rich, and we saw quite a few ang moh kids and their filipino maids around.
The Stanley Market was.. not worth going. Just a very small market with nothing special. Stanley Plaza, a pretty new spot there.
We took a 小巴back at night! It was a nice experience 'cause I've seen and heard about such buses in which the passengers had to shout out where they wanted to alight! But if i didn't remember wrongly all that the passengers on our bus said was mm goi (thankyou or something), and the bus driver would know where to stop. We didn't shout anything though, just followed other people down.
At night we had a seafood dinner near ladies market, or temple . One of those.
Beer, yummy seafood and lemon tea. Not bad haha.
Lan Kwai Fong is like a must go in Hong Kong. Although I didn't exactly have suitable travel companions, I still went! With my 50 year old colleague haha.
We didn't club of course, just found the quietest pub and sat down to chat. About work. Hurhur. And I had juice haha.
Breakfast at one of the more modern cha chan tings -
Street near where we stayed.
Happened to meet gabby, gena and daddy on the last day on my way to Mongkok!
The older one's an angel, younger one's a devil.
Velda and her new bunny that she unselfishly lent me for a while on our flight back :)
More random photos from my phone!
Before I flew off! Thanks ming and mama for sending me off :D Some of the outfits I had on in hong kong!
Navigated quite a long! Youzi and I walked from Mong Kong to ladies street to temple street back to bowring street where our hotel was and almost died. But it was fun!
On the last day I shopped at ladies street and argyle street alone! It was quite exciting 'cause I think it's the first time I'm alone overseas for quite a long while!
Velda again! (I'm not biased, just happened to meet her more 'cause we took the same flights! But ya la, she's one of my favourites :))
YAY. Finally updated this space. Xinyi, no more boring book review! haha
