After a four hours flight we arrived at Male' International Airport! Male - pronounced mah - lay is the capital of Maldives! I realised I knew very very little about maldives before I went, except that it was a beautiful place!

The whole of maldives is made up of many atolls and each atoll consists of many islands, and islands are separated by the sea - so we had to take a boat to our resort which was on an island!

That's us before the boat set off and before we put on our life jackets. A lady told us the sea would be pretty choppy that night, and told us to stay calm. I was thinking how bad could it be?

OMG. The boat ride was the scariest I have ever taken, or maybe comparable to the jet boat ride I took in new zealand which was meant to be scary. The boat ride felt more like a roller coaster ride I was really a teeny bit freaked out. But quite fun la :p

So finally after around 40 minutes, we caught the first glimpse of the club med resort! The resort is on Kani Island :) There were so many stars in the sky but I couldn't take a picture that would show.

The water was really clear and we could see fishies even though it was at night! Couldn't wait to for the next morning to see how beautiful the beaches are!

After a short briefing by one of the GOs (guest... something i forgot), we were lead to our rooms. We walked for >10 minutes in the dark before we finally reached our rooms :( No buggy service or whatsoever! So everyday, every time in order to get to the restaurant/lobby/bars etc we had to walk super far! But we got used to it eventually.

Finally reached our room! It was pretty disappointing actually, a little more run down than I thought it'd be. I expected a little more out of club med resorts, but it wasn't thatt bad.



Next morning!



Our rooms were very close to the beach so we were prepared to wake up to a breath taking view first thing in the morning, but it wasn't all that breath taking. It was pretty nice, but not OMG enough. The beach was pretty narrow and there were lotsa dead corals and random stuff washed up on the beach. The water wasn't that blue on that side too.

Thankfully breakfast didn't disappoint! There was such a large spread of food! Sinful chocolate fondue early in the morning!

After a breakfast a GO gave us a tour around the resort! Look at the pretty clear blue water! Loves it.

Club Med Spa. Uber pricey and we had enough activities to occupy us so we didn't go there!

The swimming pool and the sea seemed to have merge :) So pretty together.

We went swimming by the beach after the tour, and did some snorkelling around the area. And guess what i saw.. a SHARK!!! I was swimming swimming swimming, and suddenly i saw this shark swim past in front of me, like 1.5m away. I immediately popped my head out of the water and told my sis, bro and gf that i saw a shark and frantically swam away! They were like where where but by the time they tried to find it it was gone. While we were swimming back to the shore everyone including myself was highly suspecting if what i saw was really a shark. I was pretty sure 'cause it looked exactly like what a shark should look like, pointed snout, grey, with a sharks fin. Just that it was very small. 50cm maybe? But I wasn't 100% sure too 'cause i only saw it for like 3 seconds before i panicked.

Soon, it was time to eat again! Lunch! There was laksa! Loveee.

Passionfruit which we don't see often in Singapore. It's really fragrant but very sour.

After lunch, we went snorkelling I think. Anw very few photos of water activities 'cause all of them are in korkor's waterproof cam! But i think by the time i get the photos i'd have forgotten everything about maldives so i decided to blog first. Shall post the photos from his cam another time!

Tea time! Omg really ate non stop while we were there. Ate a million samosas and christmas candies.

Oh by the way, it was christmas eve. The theme for that night was elegant, and we dressed up!

First time wearing heels on a sandy beach! Oh btw, on a random note, i visited forever21 at 313 a few days ago, and i saw this dress which looks 99% like this dress i'm wearing from river island! How can they copy so blatantly! I bought this dress pretty long ago!

We arrived at restaurant and saw many people dressed up very nicely! We were also greeted by the village chief (the resort was called a village) with glasses of champagne for us. And the whole restaurant was decorated very nicely!

The very much anticipated lobsters! Weren't that fantastic though.

Steamboat! This is sort of the asian corner, every meal all the asian food would be there. And that night there was steamboat! You can choose your own ingredients and there'll be a chef there to cook it for you!

It was veryy warmm.

The GOs put up a performance every night and before the performance everyone would dance together. Mama, Ming and Papa having fun. heyyy, heyyyy babbyyyy! hahaha.

I wonder how the GOs find time to rehearse for the nightly performances! The performances are different from monday to sunday!
