B.Gym Invitational 2010!
(Suddenly occurred to me i shouldn't mention the full name of the gym just in case too many people i.e. colleagues/parents/bosses find my blog!)
Better blog about the competition before i fly off for my vacation and forgot all about this huge event!
I've been working hard on this event for two months! Of course there were a million and one saikangs I had to do, but through it all i've learnt quite a bit!
There were three million things I had to do, and i couldn't cope, so I got the other coaches/staff to help me. I would seriously have did if not for them.
The night before the competition, after coaching for the whole day, all the coaches from both branches gathered at the gym to prepare the gym for the competition. Unfortunately, i chose to fall ill on that day out of all days. Wanna take MC also cannot. It was a torture getting through that day.
But I was happy seeing everything fall in place :)
Arranging certs and medals!
Exciting!
Anyway, here're my darling girls who all did me proud!
Krysten, charlene, jessica!
Nicole and heidi! (Who always has her mouth open like that when she's doing her routines!) Cutie isabelle!
My most talkative (and chubby) kid, Siobhan!
That wasn't the end of the day! That was just the end of the morning session sadly. I would have taken more photos with my girls if not for the afternoon session! Although I didn't have any students competing in the afternoon, it was scary as well! 'Cause the two bosses were now busy with judging/coaching, I had to make sure nothing went wrong! There were a couple of tricky situations, but luckily they were resolved. Phew. But towards the end of the day I just got more and more tired and my headache got worse and i couldn't wait for the competition to be over peacefully.
When the last medal was awarded, and the emcee announced the end of the competition. I was sooooooooooooooo relieved! YAY. Still had to stay back to clear up, but at least the competition was over, the stress level dropped a thousand times.
Colleague and I happy that the comp's finally over!
Although it was a tiring day, I think I learnt the most on the competition day itself. I've taken part in competitions as a gymnast, but was always too preoccupied with my performance to notice how competitions are actually run. I had a rough idea of what was supposed to happen during the competition, but when the time came i realised OMG, there was so much more to handle than I expected. There were a couple of areas that could definitely be improved on and I should have been better prepared at, but I'm glad the competition didn't turn out to be disastrous!Hooray to the successful B.gym Invitational 2010!
