All Things Gymmie

Went for a nag outing last last thursday! It was the first time so many naggers (NAG stands for Nanyang Alumni Gym :P ) were meeting up in a long time! Quite a few of my juniors are studying overseas, and they were back so xiehuan organised a gathering! :)) All those who turned out happened to all come from my era! All my juniors from when i was sec 4! We ate at crystal jade 'cause i didn't wanna eat at seoul garden heh. These two places seem very symbolic for us gymmers! My sec 1 annual gym dinner was at seoul garden, and we've been to crystal jade - the taka one. Twice or thrice for gatherings and coaches farewells!

The next day chrissie, xxy, kim and i went to visit wen at her workplace! After she finished work we set around at tcc just talking random stuff and the old days. We were recalling how STRONG and PRO we were. Were. Haha. Crazy 20 rounds of frog jumps, 200 pushs up for being 10 minutes late, hand stand push ups on the edge, never ending handsprings, round offs, front tucks onto crash mats, etc etc. Those were the days! Now we're so unfit, like 100 times weaker than we were. Though days in nanyang gym were tough, i kinda miss them. I miss the fitness, the discipline, the power, the speed, the flipping, the flexibility, the floor, the vault, the beam, the bond etc etc etc.


So anyway after meeting up with gymmers on thursday and friday, saturday was bishan gym day! With weeps, mel and xxy! Satisfied my craving to flip!

My sec 3 floor finals routine! With funny dance [the only part i like was cut out somehow:(( ], a cheating 540 and messy pirouette =X The video quality sucks and i look kinda dumb, but still uber glad to find this video anyhow! Enjoy! Don't laugh!

Kentucky Workshop!!
5 kentucky cheerleaders came to singapore last week! Omg. They're like legendary/superstar cheerleaders and it was damn cool meeting them and learning from them! I learnt and tried a million new things within 3 days! Some stuff i never imagined i could get to try. Got to meet cheerleaders from all over singapore + taiwanese cheerleaders too! Finally met and talked to xuewei whom i've always thought to be the best flyer in singapore! She's reallyyy nice and friendly and humble and helpful!! I was quite excited to meet the taiwan monsters too 'cause i missed the taiwan workshop last yr :(( And of course the CMIT cheerleaders. The taiwanese cheerleaders are all so good! The kentucky cheerleaders weren't just good, they were kinda unbelievable! They demonstrated so many stunts that we only get to see on videos, easily. Rewind, one hand rewind to cupie, handspring to single lib, bhs to single lib, full up, cupie 360, b tosses, etc etc etc. They're really nice people too, patient and encouraging. And i love it that jomo the head coach kept emphasizing safety. Safety's really something that cannot be forgotten or neglected. To me, it's definitely the top priority in cheerleading!

So anyways, i learnt how to do lotsa partner stunts during those 3 days! Got a bad muscle ache from that haha. Learnt lotsa new techniques, had some misconceptions clarified and attempted many cool stunts :) Oh and i also got to try toss up gladhitch, then pop from right gladhitch to left gladhitch! (Dunno what it's called) Did it with jasmine from wildcards - who's a really nice girl and very good gymnast/flyer - and we ALMOST succeeded! B toss wise we learnt a new technique of the load in position. Not very used to it yet but it's good to learn an alternative method! Didn't manage to learn any new baskets which is the only slight disappointment, but it's alright, i'll try new tosses next time :)

I finally got my hard disk back. Have a huge backlog of things to blog about!
Last saturday fa and ja went on a hot date! Spent 9 hours together and did so many things!
First we had lunch at da paolo! The salmon lagsane and pizza were yummy!

After lunch we walked to coronation for pedicure! Was really tired that day so it was pretty nice sitting there getting my nails done! :] Got free express manicure too :D Now my nails are in a pretty shade of pink!

Since we were around the area, we had to have island creamery ice cream! Bought our icecream and walked to botanic gardens for a stroll! Fa made me walk on the pokey stones heh. Omg the weather was damn warm but it was quite nice taking a stroll in the park la :))


That's not all! We went shopping after that but i didn't manage to get anything :( We decided to catch a movie after that! Caught ice age and it was super cuteee. :))
