Day 2!

We had to wake up early the next morning! But our squad was up the latest as compared to the rest! By the time we reached the restaurant for breakfast, most of the other cheerleaders were leaving. Aiyo we damn slack la. After i finished my breakfast, i went up to help take our passports 'cause we forgot, and something super suay and embarassing happened to me! While walking out of the cafe, i slipped/missed a step and twisted my ankle. :(( Omg I was seriously freaked out 'cause it hurt a lot, was damn scared I wouldn't be able to compete anymore. Super paiseh too la my slipper flew away and there was a hotel staff there who witnessed the whole incident. He kept saying sorry to me after that. Haha. Sorry to see me at such an unglam moment. Anw the pain more or less subsided after a while thank goodness. Maybe it's a good thing i've sprained my ankles so many times. By the way, my dearest KR Boing teammates were absolutely unsympathetic. -_-

Our liaisons met us early in the morning to take us to the stadium! They are so sweet, acted as super great nannies to us! They stay very far away from our hotel, so they all had very little sleep the previous night! Poorthings.

Photo stolen from facebook!
Shiqi and I experimented with some blue glitter on our eyes and omg i looked hideous. Sneaky shiqi asked me to put more but secretly wiped off some of hers! Haha. Oh well, we were being self sacrificial and acted as guinea pigs for the future steppers flyers. :P

We joined all the other cheerleaders at the stands! Look who were sitting next to us! Chinese taipei and Japan. It's such an honour to sit beside such zai cheerleaders really. Hurhur i sound like such a hopeless fan. We were too shy to take photos with them and we didn't stay long enough to summon our courage! And of course on our other side was Aces! Singapore cheerleaders yayys. I was reminded of CAIO in japan last year, with the sea of cheerleaders sitting at the stands opposite us. I thought it was so cool seeing all the cheerleaders in their pretty uniforms all gathered together. :)) This time it was kr steppers to be part of them! :D

Soon it was time for us to warm up to get ready for our competition! Asked siyong to take candid shots of us stretching but uh the pictures were not very candid in the end. Too camwhore already :P The practice slot before the competition reminded me a little of the gym days when we would get like 2 minutes to warm up before we 上场. Just that we were a lot slacker while warming up stunts, not that kanchiong too.

After warm ups! Oat walked past us like a million times forever looking busy and talking on the walkie talkie. So i decided not to stop him for a picture but instead just wait for him to walk past :P

Soon it was our turn to compete! We were after taipei and japan, huge drop in standard =X Surprisingly I wasn't extremely nervous, I was probably more nervous during the last training in Singapore.

This was when we first met nut! She was a coordinator for the teams going up to compete!

Our first photo with Japan! OMG. HAPPY LAAAA. Their group stunts group :))

Going up soon!!

No video of our competition routine, but i shall just tell you it was very dissapointing. Almost all my major stunts didn't go up, it was kinda unbelievable. I knew we weren't very prepared for the competition, but i was still pretty upset with our performance. :(

Soon after that was lunch time! Our liaisons didn't discriminate us after seeing how much lousier we are as compared to taipei and japan, but instead were so nice and encouraging! :P And the uber sweet non went through so much trouble to get lunch for us! Complete with special thai desserts! Don't know what the orange stuff is called, it's some super sweet bee hoon like thingie, and the colourful thingies edward's holding are LOKCHUBS! Our favourite! I was very much cheered up after eating the 爱心lunch and yummy lokchubs :)

There were plenty of cute young cheerleader girls walking around but they were all very dao! Just look at the one whom i took a photo with, her face so black :( After lunch shiqi and i decided to remove the glitter from our eyes! So we headed to the toilet, and met a group of very friendly primary school girls!

While we were removing our make up, these girls were peering at us, and told us we were pretty! HAHA. And they tried to talk to us, they know some english :)) In our half removed make up (and facial foam on shiqi's face), we took a photo with those friendly girlies!

We returned to the stadium for the opening ceremony! Managed to grab (literally) a girlie cheerleader who was nice enough to smile at the camera! Although i grabbed her, she didn't take the photo against her will k, contrary to what the others say :p

All the cheerleaders were gathered on the competition mats for the opening ceremony! There were plenty of big shots present from thailand + japan etc, but i can't remember who they were whoops. But through their speeches, i learnt that they're trying to push for cheerleading to be an olympic sport in 2016! (If i didn't remember wrongly, the year that olympics will be held in Japan) That'd be so cool! I hope it happens! Jiayou to the cheerleading community! :D

We were on the scoreboard together with Chinese Taipei and Team Japan! What an honour :) Please ignore the fact that our score was almost only half of taipei's.

Second part of the day was less stressful with us being spectators! They had a pee wee category for kids from 4-7 years old! Singapore doesn't have this category yet but I'm hoping we will in future! To expose children to cheerleading earlier, let them experience the fun and increase the general awareness of cheerleading in Singapore at the same time! And hopefully one day cheerleading will be more accepted and loved by everyone! I will try to play my part in making this come true!

Check out how well the little girls can dance and shake! Much better than most of us i would say :P

The next squad i'm gonna talk about is a very unique squad! Most of us find cheerleading tough, but it cannot be as tough for us as this squad. This squad's name is 'Deaf'. And very literally, all the cheerleaders in this squad are deaf. While we dance and stunt according to countings and music, this group of cheerleaders don't as they can't hear. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to coordinate the timings as a squad! I seriously can't imagine, but this squad managed to do it :)

They have a conductor to lead the squad as you can see in the bottom left hand corner of the collage. The cheerleaders have to look at the conductor and also count in their hearts as they can only imagine but not hear the music. Incredibly they put up a wonderful, coordinated performance. It was really very inspiring watching their performance i almost cried. Too bad i didn't take a video and can't find it on youtube, but it's on the wildcards blog so you can go take a look!

The bunch of us sneaked into the VIP area to get a better view of the open cat teams! Actually no one cared about us la. It was great watching and supporting all the teams we usually only get to see on youtube! We really have so much to learn from these teams! And of course not forgetting to scream like mad for our fellow singaporean team!

After that day's competition, back in the Singapore atheletes room! It's always nice meeting yod :) He was making ribbons for the aces flyers and helping them put on make up. How nice! He has this really huge set of make up and weeps called shiqi's and mine noob. Oh whateverrr.

Our liaisons+us+yeng headed to Siam paragon for dinner!

We won the fight against the liaisons to treat the meal! :D And so namwarn being the sweetie she is insisted on treating us to icecream! Icecream was almost as expensive as the the food so she was trying to sneaky thinking we would think it costs less! :P

She treated us to iberry icecream! Apparently a very popular brand of icecream in thailand. The name's like a cross between iPhone and Blackblerry -_- Oh the icecream treat was not the end! Namwarn and non went to the supermarket to buy lotsa mango sticky rice for us knowing we like it! Aiyo. Nice to the max, our dear liaisons.

So after our very full dinner+icecream. We went back to the stadium to train! It was pretty late and we thought the stadium would be quite empty by then, but to our surprise there were still so many teams hard at work at the stadium! So many of them just kept training and training non stop, full runs after full runs, we felt so slack oh gosh. 'Cause we are. I think that's something we gotta learn from the thai and international teams. One thing i think we do is pamper ourselves too much, telling ourselves not to get tired before a competition etc etc.

Before we started training, we stole a couple of photos with may and joe! Two very nice people from rangsit!
Haha joe was so cute to suggest the shoulder sit although both of them seemed super super tired from organising the competition.

Man i have a deja vu. I feel like i've blogged about this part before? Nvm i'll just do it again. While we were training, our dear liaisons exhausted like mad, stayed by our side to cheer us on and help us video etc! (While one concussed) Uber sweet :))

We were training beside a team from phuket, and they clapped and cheered us on when we were training. Really appreciated it :)

Some more funny photos from Harry's camera!!
Warn doing PA stand on shiqi and i!!
Hahaa all acting sexy except calvin who looks shocked or like he wants to eat shiqi's pony tail. :P

Random.

Our biggest supporter showing me the video she helped us take :)

Here're the 2 videos she took for us!

Group shot back in hotel after a tiring but exciting day :)

And with that we returned to our rooms to rest for the second day of competition!
Niteys :)

Asian Thailand Cheerleading Invitational at BKK! Day 1 and 2 :)

[This BKK trip was super happening and eventful so my blog entries are gonna be uber uber long!]

Calv, shiqi, siyong, weeps and i left for BKK on friday! Edward who couldn't leave with us 'cause he had a test and lessons bought macs breakfast for us in the morning! SO SWEEET. Ahha. I was so excited to be going overseas for cheer again! Silly weeps booked a different airline at the same time as us so he had to fly to BKK all alone! Meanwhile, the rest of us had fun in each other's company at the budget terminal :p
There was this place where they provided paper and crayons for you to colour over carved pictures (can't rmb what the pictures were about), but shiqi and i decided to doodle our own posters instead! :D
After a super restless flight for me to BKK (unlike calvin who slept like a pig once he boarded the plane), we finally reached BKK! Yay. Have i ever mentioned how much I love BKK! Now i love BKK even more! When we arrived at the bkk airport we were totally lost 'cause we didn't know where to meet our liaisons and weeps. Then we suddenly heard an announcement in thai mentioning KR Steppers! So happening, the last time i heard an announcement for me at an airport was when mama, minghui and i totally missed the boarding time and the whole plane was waiting for us. Hurhurrs. So anyway the announcement was totally useless since it was in THAI. But we managed to find our liaisons anyhow! When we first met them we had no idea how nice they were yet! Every little detail from the card they were holding that had KR Steppers written on it and our luggage tag made me uber excited haha.

Our hotel was around 45 minutes away from the airport, Hopeland Hotel! It's such a lovely hotel really, the nicest I've ever stayed at in BKK. Pretty decor at the lobby, and nice, new and clean rooms. :) We thought we could concuss in the hotel rooms for the afternoon before our practice session at night (we all slept super little the night before 'cause there was training), but we were told that we had to leave straight after we dropped our stuff for lunch then practice 'cause aces/yod offered to let us train during their slot too. Thank you if any of you are reading! Just before we left our hotel room, I realised the 2nd room key and breakfast coupons were gone! We had to pay 500 baht if we lost the card so i was panicking a little! Searched around but couldn't find it. We were in a rush so i decided to look for it later that night. So anyway, in our chui training attire we had our first lunch at the MBK food court! I didn't dare to eat tom yum 'cause i was afraid i'd get a tummy ache during the practice later on and so I had pad thai instead, but stupid me went to add lotsa chilli flakes so my tummy still suffered during practice later on.

The stadium where the competition was to be held was just next to MBK! Couldn't believe i was actually going to cheer next to the shopping centre where i always did my nails last time. Haha. Does that make sense. Notice the flags raised in front of the stadium! Although we aren't exactly representing Singapore, i was proud to see our own flag! And excited to see the others 'cause I couldn't wait to meet the other cheerleaders =D

It was a little overwhelming when we entered the stadium, with squads like Japan and Taipei practising, lotsa cheerleaders everywhere, most of them who had their whole team with them while there were only the 5 of us. Worse still edward wasn't around and siyong had to sub him! But it felt better having fellow singaporeans, aces around. And of course our lovely liaisons! There were three practice areas at the stadium, two jigsaw mat areas and the centre area which had gym mats that were to be used for competition. Each team could practise at each area for a fixed period of time. I would say our practice didn't go very well, we were also rather slack 'cause edward wasn't there, we were a little self conscious and also distracted by other squads. After our afternoon practise session, all of us headed to MBK to buy a CD and burn our music! OMG. Til then music was still not ready. Scary stuff. Luckily our liaisons were uber nice and brought us to the internet cafe to download the music and to buy CDs!

Meet namwarn(the cute girl), harry (the one in specs) and non(the one holding the camera) in the top right hand picture of the above collage! :))) They are seriously the best liaisions, always so helpful and understanding towards us. Fun people too! :) We met two huge garfields along the way, damn cute la! Xian i thought of you! Haha.

After that we went back for our evening practice! This time aces wasn't with us and so we had like the entire training mat for ourselves. It was kinda scary. Especially when all the uber zai teams were so impressive all around us. Long periods of time were spent ogling at those teams rather than training =X

I was so happy to see the rangsit cheerleaders! Always hear about them but never got to meet them. All those failed rangsit trips ughs. Okay i've seen some of them in Japan before, but it's different! And it was kinda exciting watching oat address the team! Not sure how to explain that, but yea. Haha. When we were training, one of the rangsit bases chang came to help us 'cause we kept failing! He was really nice, helping spot and trying to teach us at the same time! He became shiqi's and my favourite rangsit base. Heh. Check out rangsit's cool stunt below!

So after that, we went back to MBK for dinner! We had jap food at Fuji! My favourite jap restaurant in BKK! ['Cause that's the only one i know from the dc trips =X] The food's yummy and affordable :)

After dinner the exhausted bunch of us went back to our hotel to concuss! The bed was so comfy I really concussed the whole night without waking up at all! By the way, I found the room key and breakfast coupons in the safe. I accidentally locked them in the safe. Oops.
I'm halfway through Day 2 but I decided to leave it for the next post 'cause i realised it's far too long for me to finish by tonight! Good nighhhhts!

Fann Wong and Christopher Lee! *Updated*

My biggest idol Fann Wong is getting married tonight! She looks so good together with christopher lee, I'm so happy for her!

The golden couple is on the covers of i-weekly and eight days. I couldn't resist and bought both magazines! The covers look fab with them in their gorgeous wedding gowns and suits and the pretty blue blue maldives sea in the background. I really love the colour combination of white and blue.

Although the gown on the 8-days cover costs more, I prefer her wedding gown on i-weekly! It's so classy and not too over the top! She looks so so good in it! *Realised it's a Vera Wang wedding gown. I want a vera wang wedding gown next time too! Hahaa. Hopefully I'll be able to afford it :D

The one on 8-days is the $300,000 Bally one. It's more of an indian style dress and I wouldn't like to have that as my wedding gown, but being the beauty she is, Fann Wong looks good in anything! I love the bling bing hair band she's wearing! It's soooo pretty.

I haven't read the magazines yet, but i just flipped through 8-days and there're so many pretty pictures of them at maldives inside! Loveees it. Everyone should go get the magazines!

Did you know Fann Wong's the new model for Levi's Lady? How cool la i love seeing the huge posters of her. :D :D :D

Oh and remember to catch the live telecast of their wedding on TV tonight!! I can't 'cause i've got gym lesson at 7.30pm :(( But i'll record it and watch it later!

Here's wishing fann wong and christopher lee lots and lots of happiness! 白头xie老!! (damn i dunno which xie it is).

***

Please check out her toga wedding gowns too! I saw them in the magazines and on TV just now, the prettiest toga dresses ever!! She really looks like some goddess in all her wedding dresses! I'll try to google some photos to post on my blog next week! I'm sure photos of her dress will start appearing on internet after her wedding tonight!
.
I didn't fancy the dress she wore for her ROM, was a little disappointed. So I'm so happy that her other wedding gowns are all so gorgeous! Ahha. You must think I'm mad. Oh yes, and to give some credit to christopher lee, he definitely looks much better without moustache and spectacles!

Just felt like being mean.. I think Fann Wong's wedding outfits totally thrashed Michelle Chia's! :P

I was so obsessed with her gowns i forgot to mention her wedding car. Omg. It was this super posh huge white Rolls Royce (I think). It's seriously a dream wedding car too!! The flower arrangmenet on the car was unique and pretty too. The main type of flowers they used were red calla flowers, very classy! The ballroom was so beautifully decorated too! With cascading white cloth/curtains covering all the walls, and lotsa nice decor (hahaa bed description). Haha okay i shall stop going gaga over fann wong's wedding and continue typing my bkk post!!
