I missed naggers gym dinner today! For nothing!!!

Boohooooohoooooooooo.

I sense a lot of trouble for the rag performers.

And what do I think of cheerleading with bases spread out on AND off a half metre platform?

Madness.

I'm sorry but it's dangerous, impractical and the end product isn't worth all the trouble.

All right, I've been complaining on msn, on the phone, and now on my blog. I shall stop and go to bed.

Good night.

Hope less, gain more?

Think it's sad seeing how rude some primary school students are, how pampered by their parents, how some younger people seem to quit so easily now.

Of course I've been rude before. Remember in particular the time in primary five when I hated my gym coach [i love her now btw]. I can't remember what exactly happened or what I did, but the coach told me I was really rebellious then. Don't think it lasted long though. From primary school all the way til secondary school I was always quite terrified of teachers. Definitely didn't dare to talk back at them. But kids nowadays, oh well.

And i've been hearing of quite a few younger gymnasts quitting the CCA. I'm sure they had their reasons, maybe i don't know their reasons well enough. But my teammates and direct juniors went through so much in gym too and somehow we didn't quit so easily. Coach had a worse temper then, we had more stupid rules to abide, as vice capt and capt, kim and i got all sorts of nonsense from him. We trained much more than other teammates secondary three, he forced us to learn all sorts of tumbling, some freaky ones, some that he didn't even let us use in the end. I thought we didn't get the recognition from him we should have had. I was super scared before every single training in secondary three. I really really wanted to quit. But somehow I didn't. I guess it was 'cause I wasn't willing to give up the sport i've loved for so long.

Nah but i'm not saying ALL younger people nowadays are like that. Just generalising.
Yesterday at bishan I saw one of the twins get injured after her floor routine. She looked like she was in a lot of pain but her coaches or teammates didn't go to her to offer help or comfort. Not sure why, but was thinking maybe they weren't allowed to do so. Maybe it was a way to train them to be stronger? The twin [oops not sure which one, think she was tabbi] still went on competing a few other events.. very strong girl.

It's also weird how things we used to handle ourselves last time are now done by parents..

My thoughts are mostly based on gyn, my experience as a coach and a really old gym senior, but I kind of think it's also a reflection of singaporean kids elsewhere.

Okay got no time left, gotta go back to school for rag performance stuff!

It's the time of the year when gymnasts all over singapore gather at bishan again. Managed to catch the b div nanyang girls. They're good, but too bad they didn't perform that well.

Kind of miss doing my floor and beam routines. It's been a long time! Throughout the day at bishan, memories of familiar routines, flips and tumbles, dance and funny incidents kept flashing through my mind. I'm glad I was once a gymnast (:

Happened to find out that 'Fourteen-year-old Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci earned the first perfect 10 on this date'. Her perfect 10 routines are really really perfect! You guys should go youtube and check them out, even if u aren't a gymnast, you'll be amazed.

Surprise arrived at my doorstep in a box today (:

Who else but jx would do such a sweet thing for me!

Gobi desserts! Really happiness in a box (: The twelve little exquisite desserts are so pretty!

The first picture taken with my phone was a little blur so I took another picture with the cam to do the pretty things justice! But by then we already ate a few. Heh

He went all the way to get gobi desserts despite being so tired after work and even skipped dinner! Just for my family and i (: So touched and happy I got to see him today. Thankyou so much (:
