Cheerobics 2009!


A post long overdue! But OMG. It took me a million years to upload all the photos here. Image heavy post!

In the morning! We loaned our mats to CAS as warm-up mats for cheerobics!

At a hotel nearby to use their toilet!

The venue was so bad and kinda disappointing for a huge event like cheerobics!
We were stranded in an empty deserted car park!

We did a PERFECT routine! The best run we've ever had. =D =D
My all girls bases' are the BEST. Flyers-turned-bases but all so strong and good! So glad I did all girls with them though i really wanted to do co-ed group stunts too! I've already done co-ed in year one anyway, and flying with all girls bases is a really different experience! It was mostly made up of fun, laughter and screaming haha. It was a little scary at first with the girls being beginners at basing and me getting injuries from falls, but the girls really tried their best to learn as fast as they could and learnt how to catch me when i fell :)) They improved sooooo much within such a short period of time, i'm so proud of them :] Also super touched by them always being so concerned about me. All the 'oh my god oh my god jiahui are you okays!' And they never once blamed me for always falling on them and butt-heading them too! Thankyou girlies. <3>

Tumbling! Was super worried about my landing 'cause I didn't manage to warm up the whole tumbling pass on the competition mats before that and the floor was more bouncy! Super cautious when I tumbled but I'm glad it turned out fine (altho ugly).

Dance!! I was actually super tired til I felt giddy by then!
But we managed put up the most energetic dance :))
I was more tired than ever after I danced crazily!
Was wondering what would happen if I passed out!

And luckily I didn't!

Thankyouu tosses for always catching me after each toss no matter what rubbish I'm doing or what i'm cursing in the air. Hehe.

Finall the last toss! The toss I was most worried of! Luckily it didn't fly backwards! Finally learnt how to control a back tuck properly! And yays to my veryyy good backspot mel!



Sigh but my heart almost disappeared when disaster happened! My toe pitch 360!! :((
But glad my final group and i managed to recover and still go up on our final christmas tree!

Ohh and deo and shiqi's amazing forklift to shoulder sit totally rocked :D

I had a brief emo moment after the routine ended, 'cause I was so upset that 360 failed and i spoilt the almost perfect routine :( So many thoughts like whether the judges would think it was a flyer falling to the ground.. whether the deduction for going up oh christmas tree late would be huge.. whether i made us lose the chance of getting good results.. were going thru my mind. :((
But I got over it after a while!

And the routine definitely was the best we've ever done too!!
The spirit, the energy, most of the stunts, everything! :)
And the best thing was the audience loved our performance.
It was so great hearing all the positive feedback on our performance!
The only thing that worried me was that everyone seemed to be very confident that we'd win :( I knew that the higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment. But I was secretly telling myself that no matter what we won, I was already super happy about our performance that day. (:
Supporters! So many came this year! So happy =D Thankyouu everyone for your support. Steppers really really appreciate it!

Then finally came the award ceremony!
Being the best spirited cheerleaders (at least in my heart), I really hoped we would win the best spirited award like we did in 2007! Was holding hands with chun before they announced. Shuqun primary won in the end though! Slightly disappointed but didn't feel that bad 'cause it was cutie primary school kids who beat us :P
And then...
We won best cheeer!!

Then it was time to announce the winners for the all-girls category! I wasn't holding very high hopes 'cause all the other teams were so strong this year! With lotsa high level stunts and super high tosses! I told myself and the girlies that even if we don't win, we still should be very very happy 'cause we already did our best and performed the best routine we've ever done :)
But we were even happier 'cause we won first runners up!!! OMG! =D

Finally, the announcement of results for team cat!
There was a moment of stunned silence when we were first announced 2nd runners-up.
I guess everyone really did hope for too much and I won't deny that I wasn't affected by the optimistic expectations of everyone.
No tears of joy this year, but still I was happy and satisfied :)
Getting a top three placing in the competition was a bonus to the great routine we performed!!
I truly believe we deserved what we got, 3rd in the competition :))
Aces too, were deserving of their first and second placing!
Totally enjoyed watching aces team A's encore performance! In love with yod's fantastic choreography too :D
